在2001年影响因子最高的中国科技期刊300名排行表中,选择50种具有代表性的期刊为样本,统计了1999年和2000年的载文量,根据影响因子的计算公式求出各刊1999年和2000年所刊载的论文在2001年的被引频次。按照期刊文献分布研究中的计量方法对载文量进行递减排序,分别求出累积载文量和累积被引频次。以累积载文量为横坐标、累积被引频次为纵坐标并输入电子计算机绘成二维空间散点图,通过对所有点的观察之后配置了直线方程,确定了被引频次与载文量之间的相关趋势。结果表明,随着载文量的增加被引频次也相应增加,两者之间呈正比例关系,且变化率始终趋于一个常数。所以,在常规情况下对于大多数学科的期刊来说,影响因子的大小与载文量无关。
