This paper is the author of an article presented at the International Conference on Metal Heat Treatment in Warsaw, Poland, which outlines the possibility of improving the wear resistance of medium and medium carbon alloy steels by ion nitriding followed by high frequency surface hardening or salt bathing Quenching method to achieve. Ion nitriding followed by induction quenching or salt bath quenching can result in a hardened surface layer that can withstand high loads. In this paper, 45 ~ # carbon steel and 42 chrome-molybdenum steel, two kinds of carbon steel were studied ion nitriding followed by induction hardening and the overall hardening of the salt bath two test methods on the performance of the block.
