Many English idioms are affected by many factors. However, the unique customs and habits of Britain basically lay a foundation for idioms. This article respectively elaborates the influence of customs on English idioms from three aspects: name custom, pet custom and diet custom. It is hoped that the understanding of English idioms can be helpful.
