Wang Zuoliang and Yuan Kejia translated the poems of Robert Burns respectively. This article uses Mr. Xu Yuanchong’s three-beauty theory to compare the two versions of Robert Burns’s Chinese version, analyzes the pros and cons of the two and probes into the problem of poetry translation. This article begins with three aspects. First, I compare two translations from the perspective of poetry, that is, form beauty. In the form of beauty, both versions retain the beauty of the original poem. Second, we compare the translation method of the words, tones and images of poetry, meaning Italian beauty. This paper argues that Yuan Kejia’s handling of the term is more close to the original, but Wang Zuoliang’s translation is more free and better reflects the poetry style of the original poem. From the expression of mood and artistic conception, Wang Zuoliang’s translation achieved good results. Thirdly, it compares the two versions from the aspects of rhythm and rhyme, and thinks that Yuan Kejia’s translation is more properly handled in this respect and achieved good results.
