作为著名语言文字学家与教育家的黎锦熙,在语文教材研究方面颇有建树,可谓现代语文教育理论研究先驱者之一。黎锦熙提出的正读本与副读本兼修、文言与白话兼用、美感与兴趣兼顾的教材编写“三兼”原则,以及杂辑体、类联体和连续体“三体”并用体例,具有一定的科学性和合理性,既符合了当时社会的现实情境,又符合儿童的生理心理发展特点,值得教材编写与研究者借鉴。
