4-aminoantipyrine (4-AAP) extraction spectrophotometry is a national standard method for the determination of volatile phenol in water [1]. The commercially available 4-aminoantipyrine reagent is susceptible to deliquescence and oxidative deterioration, resulting in a high blank value, affecting the accuracy of the determination result and the linearity of the method. The high detection limit of the method severely affects the determination of volatile phenol in water . There are many methods reported in the literature about the purification of reagents, such as activated carbon purification, ethanol purification, benzene purification, chloroform extraction and purification [2-7]. This study uses green
