在世界各国的音乐院校中,作曲技术理论课程经过几个世纪的发展,已经日臻完善,形成了人所共知的四大件,即和声学、对位法、曲式学和管弦乐配器法。然而对于培养合格的作曲人材,还有一门极其需要的课程——旋律学,却始终阙如。目前世界上这方面的研究甚为稀少,就目前能够找到的几本极其宝贵的著作中,应该说不乏真知灼见,然而,由于缺乏系统性,如果要将其转化成为教材,应该说是为时尚早。因此我国音乐理论界许多有识之士都在大声疾呼加强这方面的研究,而这种大声疾呼却没有收到多少实际效果。
