In this paper, we evaluated the risk of Schistosoma mansoni infection and severe infection in Sabu Valley, Balambambi, Brazil, according to the level of urbanization and sanitation and water supply in urban areas. Shabu Valley is a village in the town of Barabamba, southeastern Brazil, through which the Sabuguinho River flows. The local climate is hot and humid, producing shallow shallow snails.
