西北民族大学成立于1950年8月,是中华人民共和国成立后创建的首所民族高等院校,学校现有56个民族的学生26000余人,教职工1900余人。建校65年来,学校为国家培养了各级各类人才14万余人。学校长期坚持跨民族文化教育,培养了大批跨民族文化教育人才,在促进民族文化交流交融等方面做出了重要贡献。 Founded in August 1950, the Northwestern Nationalities University was the first national institution of higher learning established after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The school now has more than 26,000 students and over 1,900 faculty members in 56 ethnic groups. Since its establishment 65 years ago, the school has trained more than 140,000 talents of various kinds at all levels for the country. The school has long insisted on intercultural and cultural education, trained a large number of inter-ethnic cultural and educational talents and made important contributions in promoting the integration of ethnic and cultural exchanges.
