江苏省淮阴市已建成万亩以上灌区57处,设计灌溉面积947万亩,占全市耕地面积的75％,有效灌溉面积达800万亩,水稻面积近700万亩。这些灌区经过多年的续建配套和管理运用,目前已基本形成了灌得上、排得出、降得下的灌排工程体系,成为商品粮生产基地。1991年,全市粮食总产517.15万吨,其中灌区稻麦产量439万吨,占总产量的85％左右。灌区的兴建对于全市工农业生产和水产品的发展及改善人民生活,都发挥了巨大的作用。
Huaiyin City, Jiangsu Province, has built more than 50,000 mu of irrigated area, designed irrigation area of 947 mu, accounting for 75% of the city’s arable land, the effective irrigation area of 800 mu, the rice area of nearly 700 mu. After years of continuous construction and management, these irrigated areas have basically formed a system of irrigation and drainage projects that have been irrigated, discharged, and lowered to become commodity grain production bases. In 1991, the city’s total grain output 5,171,500 tons, of which irrigated rice and wheat yield 4.39 million tons, accounting for about 85% of total output. The construction of irrigation districts has played a huge role in the development of industrial and agricultural production and aquatic products and improvement of people’s life in the city.
