BEIJING, August 12 Xinhua According to “Central News Agency” reported on the 11th, Egyptian officials said that Egypt suffered a torrential heat this week, killing at least 42 people, including a resident of Germany, mental patients and prisoners. Reportedly, Egypt is usually very hot in summer, but the temperature in the south soared to 44 degrees Celsius this week. Egyptian Ministry of Health said on the 9th temperatures in northern Egypt reached as high as 40 degrees Celsius, 21 people lost their lives to heat. Authorities said that on the 10th another 19 people died of heat, most of them were elderly people.
