鹤望兰是南非亚热带花卉,它喜阳、喜温暖湿润的气候环境条件,但在家庭盆栽莳养时,只要管理得当,也可生长良好。每个叶腋均可抽生花葶,从8-9月,抽葶开花不断,花期可延至翌年2-3月。一盆花可开数十朵,远看花株,宛若仙鹤独立,昂首遥望;又似燃烧的火焰,熠熠生辉,其姿态之优美,色彩之绚丽,给人以新奇幽雅的感觉。要使家庭盆栽鹤望兰常年有花,根据笔者多年的莳养实践,认为必须做好下列几项莳养管理工作:一、用盆及用土:鹤望兰肉质根系肥大,开花植株宜用大而深的瓦盆,以利吸水透气。盆土配制:腐叶土3份、园土4份、粗沙3份,再掺适量锯末及细煤渣粒混合而成。盆底孔上放一层粗瓦片,再垫一层粗煤渣粒,以利排水,若排水不畅,肉质根容易腐烂。植株上盆时,先填一半培养土,再往无根处充填几片牲畜蹄角或有机肥块,使迟效肥发挥长效作用。再继续填满培养土,稍按实,浇透水,以待恢复生机。二、光照和温度:鹤望兰是喜阳花卉,但忌烈日直晒,因此秋、冬、春三季都应给予充足的光照。如光照不足,则植株生长细弱,开花不正常或不开花。
