As a result of the prominent status of WWW service in PDM, it is necessary to study anddevelop PDM/Web further. After a thorough discussion on the relationship tetween PDM and Web,and a detail description for existing proglesses and limitations in Web along with PDM the paperconcludes its final goals. Next a proposal for using individual service to enhance and extendPDM/Web’s fimctionality and performance, and an evaluation about the advantages anddisadvantages of various ways to implement the individual service’, are provided. Finally, the paperdiscusses how to implement PDM’s features in Web platform.
