在前人释读基础上对西周晚期弭仲篮铭文个别字词作了新的考释。弭仲簠铭文记载了铸造器物的两种金属原料的名称及颜色。考释研究证明两种金属原料“镤鐈”“镤■”分别指金属料锡(或铅)和金属料铜,说明该器是以金属形态的红铜和锡(或铅)共熔配制青铜铸造的。铭文中的“■(■)”字即《说文》中“色”字古体“■的异构。弭仲篮铭文中出现的”色“字证明至晚在西周晚期颜色类的概念已经形成。
