北京是世界著名的历史文化名城。现存于旧城的城市中轴线被称为北京这座古都的“脊梁”和“龙脉”。这条中轴线左右对称,高低起伏,既体现了“居正不偏”的传统儒家思想,也体现了以皇权为中心的庄重与威严,是一条不断传承和发展的城市文脉,对于展现北京优秀的历史文化、对于研究古代建都史和建筑史、对于促进北京城市可持续发展都具有重要价值。
Beijing is a famous historical and cultural city in the world. The central axis of the city existing in the old city is called the “backbone” and “dragon vein” of the ancient capital of Beijing.
