Three years ago, I published an essay titled “Drawing, Creating, Building and Constructing” in New Architecture Magazine. Taking personal teaching experiences as a clue, I tried to build the construction of basic teaching in our country for the past 30 years. The development of topics to sort out. The article focuses on three changes, namely, the change from the drawing to the making, the change from making to setting up, and the change from setting up to setting up. When I was a graduate student in architecture, I had only the concept of “painting” in my head, and there was absolutely no concept of “doing ”. However, as we are educated, we begin to understand that learning to design abroad still has to be a model. When I became a teacher, I was bent on introducing model making into design teaching and making small objects on cardboard based on the model. That was a shift from drawing to making. Later in the basic course of the Chinese University of Hong Kong actively trying all kinds of outdoor full-scale structures to build. From
