前言红山水库位于西辽河的主要支流老哈河中游,距赤峰市90公里;由主坝、副坝、溢洪道、泄洪洞、输水洞和水电站等工程组成。主坝最大坝高31米,坝长1174米,总库容25.6亿立方米。工程于1958年开工,1965年竣工并正式投入运用。主坝坐落在深40～60米的覆盖层上,覆盖层表层为松散的细砂、极细砂层。由于在地震作用下有液化的可能,水利电力部同意主坝按工级建筑物进行加固处理,而且提出坝基防渗处理应与抗震加固统筹考虑。
Foreword Hongshan Reservoir is located in the middle reaches of Laoha River, the main tributary of Xiliao River, 90 kilometers away from Chifeng City. It consists of main dam, auxiliary dam, spillway, flood discharge tunnel, water conveyance tunnel and hydropower station. The main dam dam height of 31 meters, dam length 1174 meters, the total storage capacity of 2.56 billion cubic meters. Construction started in 1958, completed in 1965 and formally put into operation. The main dam is located in the cover 40 to 60 meters deep, covering the surface of the loose sand, fine sand layer. Due to the possibility of liquefaction under the earthquake, the Ministry of Water Conservancy and Electricity agreed to reinforce the main dam with work-grade buildings and proposed that the anti-seepage treatment of dam foundation should be considered in combination with earthquake-resistant reinforcement.
