Chapter I SCOPE Article 1 Scope 1. This Directive covers the legal protection of all forms of databases. 2. For the purposes of this AD, “database” means a collection of independent works, data or other material that has been systematically or orderly arranged and accessible individually by electronic means or other means. 3. The protections provided by this Directive do not apply to the process of establishing and operating a database accessible by electronic means
