书法作为一种国粹,绝不仅仅是写写汉字那么简单,它有着不同于其他艺术的固有特征,它的魅力之源就蕴藏在这些特征之中。笔者认为书法的基本特征至少表现在八个方面,即:以汉字为对象、以笔墨为工具、以线条为基础、以结体为支撑、以节奏为韵律、以技法为手段、以精神为寄托、以自然为追求。鉴于前两个特征较易理解,就不再展开论述,下面着重讨论其中六个特征。 As a quintessence of Chinese culture, calligraphy is much more than simple writing of Chinese characters.
