The discussions on discipline construction in modern poetics have been getting better and better, and have also drawn some attention from the outside world. According to our plan, we are going to end this discussion this year. But now it seems like you can not stop. A steady stream of manuscripts, scholars involved in the discussion is over. The four articles in this issue publish the author’s opinions from different perspectives. These insights may not be mature enough, not comprehensive enough, but all have new ideas that can lead to people’s review and forward-looking, we can leave room for thinking in promoting discipline development. Zhang Deming put forward that modern poetics should realize the transformation from “multi-mastering” to “self-contained”, emphasizing the national attribute of modern poetics; and from the introduction of modern poetics in modern Chinese, Put forward some differences between modern poetics and ancient poetics. To Tian Yuan and Xiong Hui from the “Hehe Learning” and “Mediation” to look forward to modern poetics, their articles have the methodological significance. Next issue of discussion, we will publish some similar articles. To deepen the discussion, academic freedom must be guaranteed. As Socrates said, freedom to follow an argument is essential to constructive academic activity. Critical thinking always threatens the existence of popular ideas. To safeguard academic freedom is not only to safeguard the rights of scholars, but also to the development of disciplines and the long-term interests of society. In this issue, Yang Jinglong’s “New Poetry Famous Master and Chinese Classical Poetics” actually echoed the discussion on the construction of modern poetics disciplines, though the author himself may not think so. Yang Jinglong is an expert in ancient literature. It is convincing that he should sort out the relationship between the new poet and classical poetics.
