为了探讨治疗甲亢的新方法,在对53条犬甲状腺动脉栓塞过程中,发现有4条犬甲状腺中静脉缺如,有5条犬有甲状腺最下动脉。甲状腺动脉栓塞后,栓塞区域内血流被完全阻断,发生缺血性无茵坏死。术后4个月栓塞区域仍可见栓塞剂存留,病理学检查有大量成纤维细胞增生和炎细胞浸润。甲状腺动脉栓塞后能永久性阻断甲状腺区域血流,栓塞区域血管不能再腔化,有效地降低了甲状腺素的分泌,为治疗甲亢选择新的方法提供了理论依据。
