Midnight’s Children is the masterpiece of a contemporary British-Indian writer,Salman Rushdie.Guided by Linda Hutcheon’s theory of parody,the thesis probes into parody of the first chapter from five perspectives.By means of Parody,the novel shows the subjectivity and constructiveness of history writing; skepticism of the constructed reality & truth; deconstruction of the logocentrism,which makes this novel a notable postmodern work.
