Installing longitudinal viscous damper on the one continuous unit of a continuous steel truss beam and flexible arch bridge,the paper studied the seismic response reduction performance of viscous dampers by nonlinear time-historic analysis.The paper discussed the influence of the parameters of viscous dampers on the structural seismic response from reducing the axial force of the arch springing,the internal force of pier bottom and the relative displacements between superstructure and piers.
