当今世界,区域经济一体化成为一种必然趋势。区域经济一体化的实质就是打破行政区划的限制走向深层次融合的一体化经济。要提高经济一体化程度,应对在全国区域经济强势竞争格局中被边缘化的挑战,建设海峡西岸经济区成为福建的战略选择。而城市群经济,作为区域经济一体化的新模式,为建设海峡西岸经济区提供了广阔的平台。致力于构建海峡西岸城市群,协调发展海峡西岸城市群,强化区域产业分工与整合,必将形成城市群竞争力,进而提升海峡西岸经济区核心竞争力。
In today’s world, regional economic integration has become an inevitable trend. The essence of regional economic integration is to break the administrative divisions and limit the integration to a deep integration of the economy. In order to raise the level of economic integration and respond to the challenge of being marginalized in the strong competitive environment of regional economy, it is a strategic choice for Fujian to establish an economic zone on the west side of the Straits. The urban agglomeration economy, as a new mode of regional economic integration, provides a broad platform for building the economic zone on the west side of the Straits. It is bound to form the urban agglomeration competitiveness and enhance the core competitiveness of the economic zone on the west side of the Taiwan Straits.
