2002年6月24日,以色列某装甲兵基地,在新闻记者们的围观下,三辆以色列国产最新型“梅卡瓦”Ⅳ主战坦克缓缓驶出车库大门,正式对外展出。以色列国防部长本·艾雷泽,国防军总参谋长莫法兹将军,国防部顾问塔尔将军等出席了发布仪式,美英等国的使节和武官也受邀出席。一向不重视形式的以军还为新坦克的发布仪式专门安排了仪仗队、军乐队和合唱团,以罕有的隆重排场来庆祝这次发布活动。
On June 24, 2002, at an Israeli Israeli armored base station, three Israel-made newly-built “Merkava” IV main battle tanks slowly drove out of the garage door and were officially on display on the crowd of journalists. Israeli Defense Minister Ben Arrizan, Defense Forces Chief of Staff Mofaz and Defense Talkers General Tal attended the ceremony. Ambassadors and military attaches from the United States and Britain were also invited to attend. The Israeli military, which has always attached importance to the form, also organized a special guard of honor, military bands and choir for the launching ceremony of the new tank, celebrating the launch with a rare grand occasion.
