The essence of the relationship between calligraphy and painter’s creation and creation is the relationship between character and books and paintings. Under the value system of Confucianism and “bearing in mind”, historians always think that the characters of calligraphists and painters have the same or decisive relationship with the books and the paintings. That is to say, vice versa. This paper argues that the value judgments of character and book, the value of the paintings are two relatively independent standard systems, and there is no corresponding or decisive relationship. However, they also affirm the importance of calligraphy and painting as a masterstroke because of their social appraisal of the artist’s and society’s personal responsibility as well as their personality.
