葛洲坝水利枢纽第一期工程投入运行的第一年,1981年7月长江上游发生建国以来特大洪峰,入库流量达72,000秒立米,宜昌流量70,800秒立米,相当于一期工程的校核流量71,100秒立米。1982年2月枯水期出现了最小通航流量3,240秒立米,接近设计枯水流量3,200秒立米。1982年汛期库水位蓄至63米左右,最大流量为59,300秒立米。1983年汛期,为提高通航发电效益,库水位在64.5米以下运行,最大流量为53,300秒立米。这些条件使葛洲坝第一期工程经受了全面考验。现就工程运行近三年来的实际情况,简述如下:
