In recent years, Xinjiang has made important discoveries in archeology. However, I would like to discuss with you today an old discovery of the 1960s. This is the big stone mound found in Haidian County, Haidian County, Xinjiang. 〔1〕 This huge Ishizuka was first known to Chinese archaeologists in 1965, but its importance to archeology in Xinjiang has only recently been truly recognized. [2] This large stone mound not only for domestic and foreign scholars pay close attention, but also caused great interest of the press friends. “Southern Weekend” and other newspapers and magazines and CCTV economy two have been reported, that is the mausoleum of Genghis Khan. In the summer of 1999, we made a special trip to Qinghe County to conduct a field trip to three Haizi large graves. Our investigation shows once again that this Dashiqiu really has nothing to do with Genghis Khan or other Mongolian emperors because it is at least a thousand years earlier than the Genghis Khan era. This article will introduce our survey of this large stone mound and discuss the significance of this discovery to archaeological research in Central Asia from three aspects.
