正确选用电机的功率是很重要的。如果选用的电机的容量不足,会使电机过热以致很快损坏,如果容量过大,就会使机构尺寸增大,启动过猛,电能消耗增加。因此,确定电机容量的原则是:①在规定的条件下,电机的温升不超过容许值,即不过热;②保证所需要的启动能力。起升机构电机容量的选择,通常是按起升机构在满载稳定工作时的功率来选择的。见《工程起重机》一书第78页,由下式确定:
