Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma cholesterol (Cho), triglyceride (TG) and high density lipoprotein (HDL-C) levels and plasma membrane ion transport enzyme activity in patients with hypertension. Methods The plasma levels of Cho, TG, HDL-C, erythrocyte membrane Na + -K + -ATPase and Ca2 + -ATPase activity were measured in 32 normal subjects (NT) and 55 patients with primary hypertension (HT) P mole ratio and membrane Ca2 + binding capacity. Results (1) The mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) in HT group was significantly different from that in NT group. (2) The levels of plasma HDL-C and Na + -K + -ATPase and Ca2 + -ATPase activity in HT group, (3) The levels of Cho, TG, Cho and erythrocyte membrane C / P ratio in HT group were significantly higher than those in NT group. Conclusions The decrease of Na + -K + -ATPase and Ca2 + -ATPase activity in erythrocyte membrane and the decrease of Ca2 + binding capacity in erythrocyte membrane are the main markers of plasma membrane ion transport disorder in hypertension. The plasma TG level and the decrease of membrane phospholipid level may be high Blood pressure physical and chemical properties of cell membranes and ion transport disorders of the main determinants.
