3月底的一天,兵团某师的一家宾馆。兵团“做人民满意公仆”先进事迹报告团入住在这里。在一间窗明几净的客房里,一位身材瘦小、面孔黝黑的中年男子,两眼深情地眺望着远方,嘴里不停地喃喃着:“出来一个多月了,时间太久了,牧民的羊群要产羔了,该派医疗队下去啦……我得赶快去看看啊!”这个自言自语的中年男子,就是报告团成员之一,全国和兵团先进卫生工作者、兵团惟一的“自治区卫生系统吴登云式先进医务工作者”、农六师北塔山医院院长、党支部书记李梦桃。从黄浦江边到北塔山下李梦桃是上海人。1964年初中刚毕业,年仅16岁的李梦桃,响应党和国家支援祖国边疆、开发建设大西北的号召,毅然从黄浦江畔的繁华大都市,来到了天山脚下的新疆生产建设兵团,开始了他扎根边疆三十多年的艰苦而光荣的人生岁月。
