Economists do not speak about “morality”, after all, economists should not value judgments in economic research. This issue is quite controversial in Western economics and so far no one has convinced anyone. However, there is always a tendency in domestic academic circles: the liberal school of economics advocates that economists are unscrupulous. Among them, some scholars moved out of Friedman’s point of view, but also moved out of Hayek as an example. There is nothing wrong with including both Hayek and Friedman in the liberal field of economics, but it is misleading to classify the two as economists unscrupulous. Since Friedman’s essay deals with economic studies (not economists), in principle value judgments should be ruled out, whereas Hayek on the other hand. In the book “The Road to Serfdom,” although Hayek and Friedman maintained their free-market and privatization maintenance to an absolute level, Hayek’s question of whether economic research needs value judgment Is quite clear: economic research should not only exclude value judgments, but economists’ responsibility lies in earnestly exploring the society
