1941年8月30日,蒋介石正在黄山官邸召开军事会议,突然日机空袭来袭。呼啸而至的炸弹在云岫楼及其附近爆炸,当场炸死卫士2人,4人受伤。蒋介石与参会人员忙躲入防空洞,才幸免于难。为什么这次轰炸目标如此准确?据此后日本陆军航空队第三飞行集团团长远藤三郎回忆,他从离任的意大利驻华大使怀利·贝克口中知道了黄山官邸的具体位置,随后又收到8月30日蒋要召开会议的密电,这才制订了针对蒋介石黄山官邸的空袭计划。
