让中学生学好本国历史,这是进行爱国主义教育的一个重要方面。不久前,我参加某中学初一班的家长座谈会,这个班60名学生,考试成绩最差的是历史,不及格的约占学生总数1/3。我问几位学生,提起历史课都摇头,说是“干巴巴”。翻开历史课本一看,果有同感。现在课本的缺点是抽象的空话多,生动的实际少;有些历史事实,没有交代清楚,或者详略失当,
Allowing middle school students to learn their own history is an important aspect of patriotic education. Not long ago, I attended a parent seminar at the beginning of a middle school class. Of the 60 students in this class, the worst test score was history, and about 1/3 of the total number of students failed. I asked a few students and they shook their heads when they talked about history. They said they were “dry.” Looking at the history textbooks, I feel the same. The shortcomings of textbooks are that there are more abstract empty words and less vivid facts; some historical facts are not clearly explained or misunderstood.
