“紫气东来”是一个家喻户晓的词汇。“紫气东来”的祥瑞含义从何而来呢?这还要从老子说起。“紫气东来”出处为函谷关汉朝人刘向在《列仙传》中写道:“老子西游,关令尹喜望见有紫气浮关,而老子果乘青牛而过也。”“紫气东来”这句成语就出典于此。此处所说的“关”是指函谷关,在河南省最西部的灵宝市北边,是中国最早的雄关要塞之一,与山海关、武胜关等齐名,并称为中国八大雄关。春秋时期开始建立,三千多年来,一直都是东去洛阳、西达长安的咽喉要道,成为历代兵家必争之地。
