湘江是湖南省的最大河流,流域面积涵盖全省行政区域面积的40%,承载着全省60%的人口、75%以上的地区生产总值,是湖南省人口最稠密、城市化水平最高、经济最发达的区域,也是资源和环境压力最大的区域。湘江保护和治理关系着湖南省经济社会发展和两型社会建设的大局。为给子孙后代留一江清水,湖南历届省委、省政府对湘江保护与治理工作进行着接力,开展“碧水湘江千里行动”、挤入国家“十二五”规划……一系列重大举措相继出台实施。
Xiangjiang River is the largest river in Hunan Province. The basin area covers 40% of the administrative area of the province, carrying 60% of the province’s population and 75% of its GDP. It is the most densely populated and highest level of urbanization in Hunan Province. The most economically developed area is also the area with the greatest pressure on resources and the environment. The protection and governance of the Xiang River are related to the overall situation of the economic and social development and the construction of a two-oriented society in Hunan Province. In order to leave a clean water for future generations, all the previous provincial Party committees and governments in Hunan carried forward the work of protecting and controlling the Xiangjiang River and carried out the “clean water Xiangjiang Trilion”, squeezing into the national “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” A series of major initiatives have been introduced.
