The project follows a modular design to achieve the flexibility of layout in a variety of ways in this temporary pavilion. The enclosed structure of the building uses horizontal and pliable wood, bringing natural light to the hall and reducing energy consumption. Visitors to the museum through a large atrium, and then through escalators into three different floors, each floor represents a different biosphere. The first floor focuses on the geographic location of Azerbaijan, while the second floor focuses on the country’s different climate zones and the top-level restaurant and rooftop deck overlooking the rest of the Expo area. After the Expo expires on October 31, 2015, the pavilion will be demolished and reconstructed in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
