The U.S. Navy has signed a 31-month contract with Laurier for a total of 4.8 million U.S. dollars to participate in a multi-band anti-ship warfare MATES program run by the Naval Research Laboratory. The project aims to demonstrate the success of a laser system operating in the mid-wave and long-wave infrared bands against an anti-ship missile using a photoelectric seeker.
