中国是世界上应用生物防治最早的国家。比德国哈提Hartig在他的著作里提出生物防治的思想和美国成功地应用澳州瓢虫防治吹绵介壳虫要早1200～1500年一、中国古代对害虫天敌的认识害虫天敌主要包括捕食性昆虫、寄生性昆虫、脊椎动物中的鸟类、两栖类、爬行类、哺乳类以及昆虫病原微生物等。在浩瀚的古代博物文献中,这些类别的天敌及一些害虫天敌的食性、生殖行为等生物学特性,都有详尽的观察、记载。笔者将收集的有限资料,归纳于右表。
