少年儿童的思想教育要考虑共青团、少先队组织在思想教育内容上的有效衔接,培养少年儿童党、团、队相衔接的组织意识,培养他们对党,对社会主义祖国的朴素感情;把少先队章程的爱祖国、爱人民、爱劳动、爱科学等重要思想原则体现到少先队工作、活动中,进而转化为少年儿童的国家意识、科学意识和劳动意识,培养他们的爱心,让他们养成良好的道德行为习惯。
