2005年10月笔者参加了江苏省教育厅组织的为期一个月的数学教师赴英国培训项目.在英国曼彻斯特城的“苏曼”教师培训中心,聆听了英国文化部教育官员和中小学教师的专题讲座,并与英国同行进行了座谈和交流,同时参观访问了当地具有代表性的中小学.1 英国中小学教育的总体印象英国教师认为:数学的学习应当是以自然的方式进行,就如同学游泳一样,不下水练习,不呛水,就学不会游泳.英国教育非常注重培养学生的独立学习能力,启发学生主动学习,鼓励学生广泛阅读,深入研究,并就所学内容提出疑问,不断思考.
