作为宫体诗的健将,萧绎一生都追随着其兄宫体诗领袖萧纲。他不仅爱好文学,而且在诗歌理论与创作,乃至诗人群体的领导方面,都与萧纲遥相呼应。他提出“吟咏风谣,流连哀思”、“情灵摇荡”等相似的文学主张,“世代亟改,论文之理非一;时事推移,属词之体或异”的理论;倡导了一个西府文人集团。这些,都推动着整个梁代诗坛日益以求新求变为美,使宫体诗成为一种时代风尚。
As a palace body poem, Xiao Yi’s life follows her brother-in-law poet Xiao Gang. He not only loves literature but also echoes with Xiao Gang-yu in the field of poetic theory and creation, and even the poet’s leadership. He proposed similar literary propositions such as “Yin ballad ballad, sorrow and grief”, “emotion and soul turbulence”, etc. Theory; advocated a Western literati group. All of these promote the poetic world in the Liang Dynasty to seek new beauty and make the palace poetry a trend of the times.
