The authors observed the effect of dimethyl hydrazine (DMH) in inducing colon cancer in mice by acidifying its colon contents by administering mouse galactosyl fructose and / or sodium sulfate and then re-injecting DMH to cause cancer. The results showed that these mice colon cancer was significantly lower than the control group (only DMH injection). Methods: Four to six weeks old mice were divided into four different diet groups, 25 in each. The first group was given general feeding. The following groups were given supplements on the basis of maintaining body weight of mice, the second group added galactoside fructose, the third group added sodium sulfate, the fourth group administered the above two additives. The drug concentration is similar to that used in humans: 1.5ml of galactosyl fructose syrup, or 50mg sodium sulphate, per 20g of drug.
