活性区重水水位系研究性重水反应堆的重要技术参数,要求随时对其进行精确监测。原探针式水位计系统由于其探头不耐辐照,以及探针与水面接触电阻不稳定,故使用寿命短、检修量大,直接影响堆的安全运行。研制了一套基于称重原理的沉子式水位计。其一次仪表仅为一铝饼,不存在辐照与电接触问题,从根本上克服了上述弊病。沉子式系统的灵敏度与铝饼直径平方成正比,其误差与直径平方成反比,基本误差与被测高度无关。当沉子直径为50毫米时,系统灵敏度可达±0.5毫米,由弹簧温度系数所引起的附加误差约3毫米(18~50℃)。沉子水位计在重水堆上试运行三年,除做过几次小修外,使用效果是满意的。
