日前,越南主办权悄悄从亚奥理事会官方网页上消失,显示越南弃办亚运会的相关程序已走完。2014年4月17日越南总理阮晋勇宣布,越南放弃2019年第18届亚洲运动会主办权。同一日,越南政府发表公告解释说,越南对于举办亚运会这样的大型赛事并无经验,也并没有为此做好准备;成功举办地区和国际体育赛事固然将对国家经济社会发展、提升越南形象做出贡献,然而一旦不能成功举办,可能会产生相反的效果。对越南的决定,舆论有赞有弹。
Recently, Vietnam’s hosting rights disappeared from the official website of the Olympic Council of Asia, indicating that the relevant procedures for abandoning the Asian Games in Vietnam have been completed. On April 17, 2014, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung announced that Vietnam will abandon the right to host the 18th Asian Games in 2019. On the very same day, the Vietnamese government issued an announcement explaining that Vietnam did not have any experience in preparing for such a big event as the Asian Games and did not prepare for it. Successfully hosting regional and international sports events will surely enhance the country’s economic and social development and enhance the image of Vietnam Contribute, however, if not successfully held, may have the opposite effect.
