京族有一万八千多人(1990年全国人口普查),其中广西有一万六千多人,主要聚居于广西壮族自治区防城各族自治县的巫头、山心、(氵万)尾三个小岛上,素有京族三岛之称。京族能歌善舞。在京族三岛,民间故事和神话传说异常丰富,民间歌曲也丰富多彩,绚丽夺目。如出海捕鱼时唱“海歌”,“哈节”时唱“哈调”,讲故事时唱“叙事歌”,婚嫁丧葬时唱“风俗歌”,儿童游戏或哄小孩睡觉时唱“儿歌”等等。演唱内
