中国古代社会对于龙神的崇拜与文化想象由来已久。至于有明一代,经由以《西游记》为代表的神魔题材通俗小说的塑造与演绎,“龙神”的君侯形象逐渐成型,其神族谱系也日益完备。由于文学创作的相互借鉴以及民间趣味在通俗文艺作品中的渗透,更多有关“龙”的主题故事与文化元素被整合起来,集中反映于神魔题材小说作品之中。而这些小说的广泛传播,又进一步丰富了龙文化的内涵,扩大了龙文化的影响。
