《红楼梦》是中国章回小说巅峰之作。金陵十二钗判词用隐晦的诗境提前暗示了她们在封建礼教的束缚和摧残下的悲惨命运。本文以《红楼梦》杨宪益、霍克斯的两部经典译本为基础,从奈达功能对等角度对《红楼梦》中金陵十二钗的判词进行分析。文章从典故和韵律两个个方面展开分析,探寻怎样在翻译过程中完整地重现文化意象,避免文化意象的缺失,以及在何种程度上实现功能对等。
“Dream of Red Mansions” is the pinnacle of Chinese chapter novels. The judgment of Jinling Twelve Mother Says hinted in advance at the obscure poetic conditions of their miserable destiny under the shackles and devastation of feudal ethics. Based on the two classical translations of Yang Hsien-yi and Hawkes in A Dream of Red Mansions, the thesis analyzes the verdict of the twelve-hairpin of Jinling in A Dream of Red Mansions from the perspective of Nida’s functional equivalence. The article analyzes the allusions and rhythm from two aspects, and explores how to completely reproduce the cultural images in the process of translation, to avoid the lack of cultural images and to what extent the functional equivalence is achieved.
