Since World Literature in the second issue of 1988, for the first time in the form of “Canadian Literary Album,” we have systematically introduced to our readers the current situation of the Canadian literary world so far. In the meantime, “World Literature” has been published in succession. “Canadian writer Molly Callahan Album ”(1990.4.) And“ Canadian Quebec Literary Collection ”(1992.5.). Now, after months of editorial work, the Canadian Contemporary English Literary Album meets readers again. Canadian literature has always been deeply influenced by British literature and French literature, as well as frequent exchanges with the literary world close to the United States. In addition, as a multi-immigrant, multi-ethnic country, Canadian contemporary literature has the very characteristic of “postcolonial literature.” One of the purposes of this album is to introduce our readers in China to a specific understanding of the so-called post-colonial literature through the introduction of various groups of writers active in contemporary Canadian literary circles and their creations. Due to time, material and space limitations, our compilation is not comprehensive enough, only hope it can partially meet the needs of readers. This series of editorial work has been the strong support of all walks of life. The support and enthusiasm of the Canadian embassy, staff of the Embassy Cultural Office and cultural counselor Richard King provide the first condition for the publication of this series. In addition, we have received generous support from Canadian publishers and writers in resolving issues such as the copyright of works and special maps. Hereby, World Literature Magazine wishes to express its most sincere respect and heartfelt thanks to the Canadian embassy and Canada’s publishing agencies and authors. We also thank the Peking University Center for Canadian Studies for its enthusiastic cooperation. The publishers and authors who provide one-time Chinese copyright are: National Gallery of Canada, Oxford University Press Canada, Cambridge University Press, UK, Todt Ltd., W.Toad Ltd., Cormorant Books Inc., Turnstone Press, Winnipeg, Canada, Sono Ness Press Sono Nis Press, Big Apple Tuttle-Mori Agency; Daniel David Moses, Linda Hutcheon, Patricia Young, Lor-na Crozier, Andrew Parkin, Susan Musgrave, Al Purdy, H.
