侨汇是海外华侨反哺家乡重要的经济手段之一。民国之际,琼籍华侨在侨居国位卑薪微的处境下,不忘故土,通过各种途径将积攒的钱送回故居地。这些侨汇除了赡养家小之外,部分地充当着雇佣资本,对于侨乡地区向“消费城镇”的转型也起到了一定的作用。
Overseas remittances are one of the most important economic measures for overseas Chinese to feed their hometown. On the occasion of the Republic of China, the overseas Chinese in Qiongjii did not forget their homeland under the petty bourgeoisie status and returned the money they saved through various channels. These remittances, in addition to their dependents, are partly employed as hiring capitals and play a role in the transition to “consumer cities and towns” in Qiaoxiang.
